Its not appropriate to catagorize these institutions as 1, 2, 3 as I am not elegible to do so. Just to give you general opinion these are catagorized as:

1. Fatima Memorial Medical College (its both for men and women). Its on top due to the reason its hospital (Fatima Memorial Hospital) is working since more than 20 years and is situated in the center of the city (Shadman Lahore). Good and busy professor avoid wasting time in travelling to college.
2. Lahore Medical College (Ghurki)
3. CMH
4. All the remaining are almost on same level. Its just for your information that Akhtar Saeed Medical College is situated in Bahria Town Lahore.

Pakistani institutes are far more better than Chinese one. Its worth mentioning that merit of these private sector medical colleges are almost the same as of Govt. Sector institutes. But Chinese medical colleges give admission bit easier and these are much very economical for completing the degreee.

While I am away from Pakistan for the last almost more than one decade probably you can guide me about medical colleges information in public sector as well as private sectors.
My first question in this regard is: Whether govt has abolished self financed seats in govt colleges? If not, how much is annual fees?
What about the private sectors colleges, can you give them No.1,2,3, to following instutiton in Lahore:

Any other, kindly add to this list
How do you compare China medical study with our medical instutitons in Pakistan specially in Lahore.

Bahria Town Lahore decreases its electricity rates

I am amazed to inform you that Bahria Town Lahore has decreased its electricity rates for its residents. On the other hand their power supply is now fully uninterrupted and there is no concept of load shedding or power outage in Bahria Town Lahore.

In the start (2005-2006) Bahria Town Lahore started charging flat rate of Rs.7 per unit and then increased the rates to Rs.9 per unit and provided generator back up during load shedding hours. The quality of power through generators was not satisfactory as tripping was very common. Now Bahria Town Lahore has its own dedicated grid station which provides electricity without any problem.
During our latest meeting we requested Malik Riaz Hussain Sahib for decreasing electricity per unit charges and school fees. He agreed to discuss the matter with his team. It was decided that school fee can not be decreased without effecting the standard. However electricity rates has been revised as follows:

Rs.1.40 upto 50 Units
Rs.3.20 51-100 Units
Rs.4.96 101-300 Units
Rs.8.03 301-700 Units
Rs.10 Above 700 Units

We were supposed to pay Rs.4500/= for September 2009 but we have been charged Rs.3393/= including Govt. Taxes.

I appreciate Bahria Town Lahore for taking this generous step only for the betterment of its members.

Bahria Town Lahore: Security Charges Per Month of Sector B Plots and Links Road from Lahore Canal

Dear Hussain Kaisrani, i appreciate your prompt reply. No power outages in Bahria, its an info and really unbelieveable.
Just one point left, Dr. Usman, having a plot in Sector-C has been asked for possession charges by 30th october 2009 otherwise he will be charged a fine @1.5% of remaining dues.
But Sector - B plot holders have no remaining dues, any idea how Bahria is going to charge them for not taking possession.It would be nice to hear from some Sector - B plot holder, who has received notice of such kind.

Bahria Town Lahore will charge to its Sector B members for not taking the possession when either they transfer (sell) their plot or request for possession. Until now there is no surcharge on this monthly amount.

Dear Hanan,
Though I never said that Bahria Town Lahore is building two separate roads from Lahore Canal (not Multan Road) linking to Sector C but I strongly believe that it will do so as there is no reason to use (present) Khayabane Iftikhar (Executive Lodges Road) for all of its sectors or projects.
These links are:
  1. The road in between Overseas Enclave and Gulmaher Block
  2. The road after Janiper Block near to under construction Islamic Center.
I have no doubt that Bahria Town Lahore will have direct link with Multan Road Lahore but not yet reached to any conclusion of its route. In one of the meeting Malik Riaz claimed that Bahria Town Lahore is only 50% on ground and my vision of its shape, size and facility is still hidden. His wordings were Aagay Aagay Daikhiay Hota Hai Kia. Lets wait and see.

1200 rupees are charged upto 10 Marla house. Meaning whether a house is 5 Marla, 7 Marla, 8 Marla or 10 Marla the monthly charges will be Rs.1,200/=
For 1 Kanal it is Rs.2,000/= per month. Hope It is clear now.

Why does Bahria Town Lahore charge per month from its residants

In the start (2005-2006) Bahria Town Lahore used to give detail of this monthly charges when the amount per month was Rs.700/= In 2007 they increased the amount to Rs.1,000/= per month and removed full detail. Since last month they increased the amount to Rs.1,200/=. Hope you know that every community has its residants association which manages few common things of mutual interest for the betterment of residents and charge some amount on monthly basis. BahriaTown is economical from all other societies but providing more facilities. Though Bahria Town has not officially provided a complete list of services against this monthly amount but to me these are as follows:
1. Security
2. Cleanliness of Roads and garbage collection twice a day.
3. Water bill
4. Water filtration plant
5. Free transport as per Bahria Schedule
6. Street Lights
7. Parks. Gardening related matters outside of home boudary specifically and inside the homes boundary (on request in Safari Villas) in general.
9. Air conditioned and best maintained Masajid arrangements
8. Fire Brigade (which also helps to throw water in water tank of homes if due to some problem water is not available)
9. 24 hour maintenance service
10. 24 hour ambulance service and emergency treatment (on Rs.50/= fee to avoid unnecessary rush)
12. Celebrations on national days, Musical programs and other recreational activities
13. In short you name it they have it. And Bahria does not charge for all these items other than Rs.1200/= per month.

Bahria Town Lahore has no problem of power any more. They have developed the system by spending millions Rupees. Generators back up is now an old story. Bahria Town Lahore has its own dedicated Grid Station. I have not seen any power shutdown (for a minute) other than some technical fault during last few months. May be it seems unbelievable but it is true.

As question was asked about Bahria Town Sector C so I remained in it. Otherwise it is equally true for other sectors of Bahria Town Lahore. Bahria Town charges Rs.500/= as a security when plot is ready to construct a home and the owner does not take possession. Thanks to Dr Usman for making the matter more clear.

Monthly Charges in Bahria Town Lahore and Possession of a plot

Please also clarify if there is difference in these rates in Safari Villas and sector B self built houses.

Salaam!
Bahria Town Lahore is charging per month from ALL of Bahria Town residents as follows:

upto 10 Marla = Rs.12,00/= (It remained Rs.1,000/= during last three years)
Upto 1 Kanal = Rs.2,000/=
Upto 2 Kanal = Rs.3,000/=
From above 2 Kanal = Rs.4,500/=

Bahria Town is not charging for water until now. Gas bills are not under Bahria Town controls. For electricity they are charging flat rate of Rs.9 per unit. Bahria Town Lahore has full control on electricity so we are not facing outage of power any more.

These rates are same for all Bahria residents including Safari Villas Lahore.

Generally there is no draw back if you do not take possession of your plot in Sector C. Its recommended that you should take possession of your plot if you can manage to pay possession charges and not interested to sell it in near future. In Bahria Town policy the only PERMANENT factor is CHANGE. They may increase possession charges or can announce any extra surcharge to whom who have still not got possession. For a safety point of view there is no need to worry. Its equally safe when you got possession letter but the final document from Bahria is possession letter or site plan.

At last Bahria Town Management has issued Villa numbers to its Awami Villas members. As expected Bahria Town CHANGED the location of these villas which is now very far away from Lahore. Technically it may be a part of Lahore but practically its Raiwind.

Gmail Inbox Preview - A great service provided by Gmail

Gmail beta version is far more better than established emailing services like hotmail or yahoo. It keeps on adding new and useful features like Sultan Rahi of Pakistan to act in films but gmail quality should not be campared with Sultan Rahi's films and acting. Its the second feature with in a week which is added in the gmail's bag of tricks after Automatic Message Translation.
 In supper slow internet connections (in Pakistan) it is some time very disturbing to wait downloading complete email inbox. More specifically when no new emails are seen after waiting for few minutes. Gmail Inbox Preview gives the static perview of ten most recent emails when gmail keeps its inbox loading. It will be very beneficial on non 3G mobile browser as well. You may turn it on from the Labs tab under Settings.  Have a look and see how it works.

I am sorry to disoppoint you that I am NOT an expert of Bahria Town Lahore. I am in learning process so my views should be taken as a student not as an expert.
Your plot (366 Overseas Enclave A, Bahria Town Lahore) is idealy located. Though I am not involved in direct selling or buying but can give you idea of on going rates. Its price is about 16 Lac thought its worth is more than 20 Lacs. Good luck brother!

The Art Of Loving

Erich Fromm (1900-1980) was both a practicing psychoanalyst and a committed social theorist. He has written many books. Last night I was reading his book The Art Of Loving. Its a small size book but every single word of it needs attention and special consideration. The concepts and clarity about LOVE is main point and focus of the love. He has very rightly made his introductory point:
The first thing we have to learn is that love is an art, just as living is an art; if we want to learn how to love we must proceed in the same way we have to proceed if we want to learn any other art. Maybe here lies the answer to the question of why people in our culture try so rarely to learn this art, in spite of their obvious failures: in spite of the deep-seated craving for love, almost everything else is considered to be more important than love: success, prestige, money, power - almost all our energy is used for learning of how to achieve these aims, and almost none to learn the art of loving.
In last and fourth chapter of the book he says
in order to practise an art, including the art of love, one has to keep in mind certain general requirements. As far as love is concerned, discipline, concentration, patience are needed.
 I was amazed to know his views that one should not FALL IN LOVE but should STAND FOR LOVE. Love is not falling but standing.

    May be Khawar Sahib is wrong in giving the price but he is right in saying that you are asking TOOOO much for your home which is still under construction. Lets check it:
    Price of plot (on higher side) = Rs.20 Lac
    Cost of 2600 Sq. ft coverd Area (on higher side) = 2600*Rs.1400 = Rs. 36,40,000 Lac
    Your Profit (uncompleted house) on higher side = Rs. 3 Lac.
    TOTAL = Rs.59,40,000/=
    So your demand should NOT be higher than Rs.61 Lac so that you may sell it on Rs.60 Lac if you can find some buyer on this price.

    Its worth mentioning that an on going rate of an under construction 10 Marla 
    Safari Villa with far more better specifications and far better size on 60 ft Road facing commercial plaza is Rs.62 Lac.

    Please correct me if I am wrong. Your higher demand does not hurt us. It will hurt your buyer. Thanks for your understanding Sir!

    Hussain Kaisrani Sahib. appraciated for your advise and i 100 % do agree with you.This house is just situated on the same road where the 10 marla safari villas repair work going on.Ejaz sahib thanks for encourging me i am not a contractor but investor any body can go to the house and check the material, i already mention this is the time to see the construction because later when complete no body can check what was inside only the buyer can see the maked up face.Ejaz plot no.315 next to 10 marla safari vilas.

    20 lakh for 8 marla is not correct price. One can buy a very good 10 marla in 
    gulbahar block for only 14 lakh. moreover Rs 1400 per sq ft is not right price. builders or investors dont go above 800-900 per sqft (inc. their profit too) by using cheapest material = 20 to 24 lakh. add 8 marla plot for 15 lakh the demand should be 40. even their he is saving few lakh

    I am a professional builder and ready to make a similar house with similar location and similar finishing in total cost of 42lakh which includes all my reasonable profit margin.Break up of cost is given below

    Plot cost 15-16 lakh
    Bahria charges 1.5 lakh ( drawing,map approval,utilities etc )
    Construction charges 24-25 lakh ( includes our profit margin)

    Donot deceive the innocent people by asking un reasonable prices.There is a list of many houses in sector B which are not being sold from last many months just because of unreasonable demanded price.
